Kayode Egbetokun has been appointed the new acting Inspector General of Police by Vice President Kashim Shettima.
On Tuesday, Shettima conducted a brief ceremony in his office at the Presidential Villa in Abuja.
The newly appointed interim IGP has previously held the position of Lagos State Commissioner of Police.
At the occasion, key government officials, including Senator George Akume, the Secretary to the Government of the Federation (SGF), assisted Shettima with the decoration.
