EFCC: Bawa's Office, House, and Associates Under Investigation by DSS Storms.

Agents from the Department of State Services (DSS) have searched Abdulrasheed Bawa's residence and place of business. Bawa is the temporarily suspended Chairman of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC).

This comes after accusations of improper administration, theft, and diversion of funds obtained from the sale of property that had been siezed.

The DSS is presently holding the suspended EFCC Chairman in Abuja as an investigation into alleged financial irregularities during that time is ongoing.

On June 14, President Bola Tinubu placed Bawa's position as EFCC chairman on temporary leave. Shortly after, the DSS arrested him.

Punch was informed by trustworthy sources that DSS agents raided Bawa's home in Gwarinpa, Abuja, in the presence of his wife and children.

According to a reliable insider, DSS personnel also searched Bawa's workplace that day. A search warrant was provided for both sites.

According to the source, "DSS agents raided the EFCC Headquarters in Jabi on Saturday to search the suspended chairman's office. However, they displayed a search warrant. Bawa's residence in Gwarinpa was also searched by another team of DSS agents, who encountered his wife and kids there.

This week, Bawa's close colleagues at the office were also asked for questioning. They are being looked into on suspicion of mismanagement, theft, and diversion of proceeds from assets that were auctioned off in forfeiture under his supervision.

But according to an unnamed government source, the DSS has not yet filed charges against Bawa because of their ongoing investigations.

The source stated that the DSS has not yet filed a court complaint against him because they are still conducting their investigation.

According to reports, the DSS has secured an ex parte order extending Bawa's imprisonment in their facility for the duration of their ongoing investigation.

According to a government source, the DSS is taking this action to prevent Bawa from suing to have his incarceration overturned.
