Soccer: Pele’s last words before his demise

Pele, a Brazilian legend who passed away on Thursday, had congratulated Lionel Messi and Argentina on their victory in the 2022 FIFA World Cup on December 18. The tournament was held in Qatar.

According to Bendelnews, Pele's family shared the news of his passing on Thursday evening via a post on the football legend's official Instagram account. Pele passed away on Friday.

The legendary football player is widely considered to be one of the sport's all-time best players.

After undergoing surgery in September 2021 to remove a tumour that was located on his colon, the 82-year-old patient has been receiving ongoing treatment from his doctors on a consistent basis.

Pele was admitted to the hospital for a second time around the end of the year 2022.

On the other hand, Pele uploaded a picture to his Instagram account on December 18, 2022, entitled "Argentina National Team Celebrating with the FIFA World Cup Trophy at Lusail Stadium in Qatar After Beating France in the Final," and shared it with the world.

"Today, football continues to tell its tale, as always in an exciting fashion," was another thing that the former Minister of Sports of Brazil wrote.

Messi was deserving of winning his first World Cup, given his career trajectory. Mbappé, who is a close friend of mine, scored four goals in the finals.

What a priceless present it was to be able to witness this spectacular event for the sake of the development of our sport.

In addition, I felt obligated to congratulate Morocco on the outstanding campaign they ran.

It's wonderful to see Africa taking the spotlight. Your success is well deserved, Argentina! Surely Diego is cracking a smile right about now.
