15 first-class Edo State University, Uzairue graduates would be automatically hired, according to Governor of Edo State Mr. Godwin Obaseki.
Obaseki, who made the remark at the institution's fourth convocation event in the state's Etsako West Local Government Area, praised the school for its achievements in research and education.
As per usual, all 15 of the students who made first in this school are automatically employed into the Edo State Civil Service; your position is waiting for you.
"We have established a rule that any Edo State graduate who earned a first-class grade shall be awarded automatic employment in our public and civil service. We wish to develop skilled labour.
"As we commemorate the Edo State University Uzairue's fourth convocation, the university has continued to lead the way in Nigerian teaching and research. Although this academic year has been difficult, we are now honouring the first group of our postgraduate students.
"In the previous six years, we have prioritised education. Because we think a strong foundation is necessary for education, we have continued to implement transformational reforms in our basic education sector.
As a government, we are now placing a higher priority on technical and vocational education because we think that in order to grow our nation, our educational system needs to concentrate on producing individuals who can use their hands and abilities in the workplace.
"We won't have the robust human capital basis we need unless we reinforce the cornerstone of education in this country by boosting TVET and bolstering basic education.
"Our goal for higher education institutions is to be at the top of the game and provide the nation with capable hands that are both current and relevant.
"This university has consistently set great goals for sustainability and self-reliance. The success that has been attained thus far is impressive.
