NYSC provides an update on the Abuja Headquarter's fire

According to reports from the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC), the sudden outbreak of fire at the organization's Directorate Headquarters has been contained.

The fire was extinguished by the FCT and Federal Fire Service Departments, according to a statement released by the Scheme and authored by Eddy Megwa, Director of Press and Public Relations.

"The fire incident which started about 7:30am on Friday, November 4th, 2022 was limited to the third floor of the six-story building edifice which is occupied by Planning Research and Statistics as well as the General Service Department affected only a particular room with electronic gadgets," the statement said.

"Thank goodness, no lives were lost, and all of the important documents were quickly evacuated and stored safely," said the reporter.

The Scheme expressed its sincere gratitude to the Federal and FCT Fire Service Departments for their rapid response, which helped to mitigate the damage caused by the fire incident.

In addition to this, it states that "appreciation is extended to all security agencies for the significant roles they played during the unfortunate incident."
