In the Jigawa IDP camp, two kids passed away due to starvation.

According to reports, two children have died in an IDP camp in the Ringim local government area of Jigawa state.

Malama Talatu quoted a source as saying that after being displaced by a devastating flood, the children in the Ringim junior Arabic IDP camp died due to suspected cases of starvation.

According to the DAILY POST, Jigawa State had been devastated by flooding, which had killed hundreds and forced thousands of households to relocate.

However, she voiced concern over the lack of medical care provided in the IDP camp.

"The majority of our children are currently in failing health; they have colds, fevers, headaches, and other illnesses."

She said, "For more than three weeks, there were no healthcare providers present; we had to carry ourselves and our kids to the nearest hospital."

She continued by saying that two ladies gave birth at the IDP camp and that approximately ten other expectant mothers will give birth to their newborns at any moment.

She also urged governments and donors to provide food, medicine, clothing, blankets, and other necessities to the victims in order to lessen their pain.

Malama Maryam, the mother of a deceased 21-month-old Ummulkulsim, said that her daughter passed away from starvation.

"We took her to the Sankara CMAM Center, but they didn't help us, so we took her to the Ringim General Hospital, where she passed away after a week there."

Additionally, Basiru, a three-year-old who died at Ringim General Hospital from a fever, according to Hanifa Majiyawa.
