As a candidate for the Yobe North Senatorial District, Bashir Machina's name has been made public on the Independent National Electoral Commission's (INEC) website.
This complies with a letter the APC National Headquarters sent to the election umpire requesting that it accept and publicize Machina's name as the legitimate senate candidate for the party.
This was confirmed by Husaini Mohammed Isa, the Machina Campaign Organization's spokesman, in a message on social media on Friday.

He claimed that the Independent National Electoral Commission had responded with the APC's request in a letter to the Umpire for the electoral body to declare Bashir Machina as the party's legitimate candidate for the Yobe North senatorial district.
Remember that in a historic decision, the Federal High Court in Damaturu ordered INEC and APC to accept Bashir Machina as the party's legitimate senatorial candidate in Yobe North.
The development has put to rest questions about whether the Party will abide by the court order that the trial court issued to it.
If elected as the next Senator for Yobe North, Bashir Machina aspires to succeed Ahmad Ibrahim Lawan, who is now the President of the Senate, at the 10th National Assembly.
