Sowore responds as court bans Obi supporters from Lekki Toll-Gate

The Labour Party and Peter Obi's supporters were unable to hold a protest at Lekki Toll-Gate in Lagos due to a court injunction, according to African Action Congress (AAC) presidential candidate Omoyele Sowore.

According to bendelnews, the Obi followers, also known as Obidients, were prevented from assembling at the Toll Gate by a Federal High Court sitting in Lagos State.

The ObiDatti23 Forward Ever Rally was set by the Obidients for October 1, 2022, in Lagos. Before going further, they intended to assemble at the site.

However, Justice Daniel Osiagor, who issued the order, ruled that while LP supporters may walk by the venue for their rally, they must not congregate there.

In response, Sowore stated in a post on his official social media accounts that it was risky that a judge may issue an order stopping the peaceful assembly.

"It is utterly wrong for anyone to have gone to court to squelch a lawful political meeting by PeterObi supporters at Lekkitollgate, and it is as hazardous that a judge handed an order preventing the gathering," he said.
