Kevin Spacey denies being a sex addict amid claims he abused a 14-year-old kid.

In court documents, American actor Kevin Spacey refuted claims that he suffers from sex addiction.

After completing the low-budget thriller Peter Five Eight last year, Spacey will attempt to defend his name in court in New York the following month.

The disgraced actor said in paperwork submitted in advance that when he entered a rehab facility in Arizona in 2017 following his initial accusations of sexual misbehavior, he did not seek treatment for sex addiction.

But because he had recently come out as gay, he did admit that he was "as emotionally delicate as I have ever been in my life."

In addition to being removed from the Netflix thriller House Of Cards at the time, Spacey was also accused of making inappropriate attempts toward a 14-year-old aspiring actor by the American website Buzzfeed.

In a legal lawsuit in New York, 50-year-old Anthony Rapp will square off against Spacey and demand $40 million in damages for violence and infliction of emotional distress. In a deposition for the case, one of Mr. Rapp's attorneys questioned the actor about whether he was in "limbo" in late 2017 after the Buzzfeed article with Mr. Rapp's claims appeared.

"There was a time where I didn't know what was going to happen," stated Spacey. On Thanksgiving of that year, he received word that he had been "removed" from House Of Cards, the Netflix adaptation of Michael Dobbs's political novel in which he played Machiavellian Congressman Francis Underwood.

Spacey had already entered rehab in Wickenburg, Arizona by that point. When asked what kind of rehab he was receiving, Spacey said that he wasn't sure to what extent he was able to discuss the work he had gone there to complete.

I was as emotionally delicate as I had ever been in my life, he said, but I can only tell you that. After being secretive about my personal life for more than 30 years, I had just come out as gay. I went to take care of myself because I was the subject of media accusations.

Spacey was making reference to a tweet he published in October 2017 in which he claimed he couldn't recall the interaction with Mr. Rapp.

But he added that he would "owe him the sincerest apology for extremely improper intoxicated behavior" if he had acted as Mr. Rapp stated. The actor was questioned during the deposition if he had had alcohol addiction treatment in a facility, but his attorneys protested.
