Emeka Richard, a middle-aged father, was detained by the Delta State Police Command for using a hot knife to attack his twin boys who are seven years old because they were playing outside their apartment.
Around 10 p.m. on August 29th, the event took place in the Agbarho community in the Ughelli North Local Government Area of the state.
Comrade Israel Joe, a rights activist, shared pictures of the victims, which revealed that they had burns on their buttocks.
The event was verified by the command's spokesperson, DSP Bright Edafe, who also stated that the suspect was detained for assault causing "grievous injuries."
The boys' mother passed away in October of last year, according to Comrade Joe.
"Yesterday, August 29, 2022, a middle-aged guy burned his two daughters, both of whom were 7 years old, with a very hot knife. He also made an effort to kill his daughter, 10, who is currently on the run. The event took place in Delta State's Agbaroh neighborhood "He composed.
"A Facebook follower called me at 10 p.m. yesterday, and I had already suggested that neighbors and bystanders save the kids from the guy. He goes by the name Emeka Richard and is from Imo State, but he married the children's mother, who is from Ughelli North.
"According to witnesses, he became enraged when the kids lost their mother in October of last year and felt it was his responsibility to beat them up virtually on a regular basis.
"We are grateful to DPO Agbaroh for dispatching a team of police officers to us very away to help us save the kids. The ministry of women affairs in Delta State has also been approached to seek custody of the kids since their father no longer deserves to be their father. Despite the fact that you are their parent and they are members of society, their rights must be safeguarded by the law. Justice and humanity are the reasons we are in Agbaroh "Added he.
