Dino Melaye explains why Tinubu was not present at the signing of the Peace Accord.

Bola Tinubu, the presidential candidate for the ruling All Progressives Congress, APC, was intentionally absent from the signing of the Presidential Peace Accord on Thursday, according to Senator Dino Melaye, spokesman for the Atiku Abubakar presidential campaign.

While the Labour Party's Peter Obi, the People's Democratic Party's Atiku Abubakar, and other party candidates were present in person at the Abuja event, Tinubu was represented by his running mate, Kashim Shettima, according to a story in the Daily Post.

On Thursday, claims that the APC candidate is now in London, United Kingdom, surfaced amid rumors that he may be dealing with a health problem.

Dino responded to Tinubu's absence by posting a video on his Facebook page in which he claimed to understand the ex-governor of Lagos's absence.

But he omitted to mention the explanation for the APC candidate's absence.

Bola Ahmed Tinubu was the lone presidential contender to skip today's signing of the National Peace Accord, he observed. He was the only one missing, of course.

"I understand his absence. Unfortunately, thumbprinting was not an option. You must undoubtedly sign. That is all I have to say: Atiku signed.
