After the Zamfara state administration revealed that Bello Turji, a notorious Nigerian terrorist and bandit who terrorised Northern Nigeria, especially the North Western States, had accepted the amnesty programme put in place by the state government, human rights attorney Bulama Bukarti reacted.
You might remember that Hassan Nasiha, the deputy governor of Zamfara state, claimed on Sunday that Bello Turji had expressed regret and made the decision to accept peace.
According to him, Bello Turji is currently assassinating renegade bandits who caused havoc in various local government areas of the state.
The most well-known human rights attorney in Nigeria, Bulama Bukarti, stated that Bello Turji has not been held accountable for the atrocities he committed in the past in response to this most recent incident.
He claimed that Bello Turji had been involved in several horrific crimes before setting 23 passengers, including a pregnant woman, on fire in Sokoto.
However, Bello Turji has since repented and is now assisting the local government in the fight against banditry.
