Murder: Kebbi woman reportedly kills her ex-husband.

As of right now, Farida Abubakar, a suspect in the alleged murder of her ex-husband Attahiru Ibrahim, who lives in the Alieru Housing Estate Gwadangaji, is chilling her heels in the custody of the Kebbi State Police Command SCID.

On receiving the information from the deceased Attahiru's neighbours, the divisional police officer in Gwadangaji mobilised his men to his house, forced the gate open, and discovered him in a pool of blood, while the ex-wife was seen hiding in the premises, according to the police image maker, SP Nafiu Abubakar.

The suspect has been detained as the primary suspect, and CP Ahmed Magaji has mandated a comprehensive investigation of the case to determine the circumstances surrounding the murder, according to the statement.

The late barrister Attahiru's neighbour, who wished to remain anonymous, recalled that he and the dead went to "ishai" prayers together before the deceased returned to his house to finish the cooking he had started before entering the mosque.

Upon his return, he claimed he learned that his neighbor's home had been the source of a tremendous noise.

"I ran to his house only to find that the gate was barred from the inside. I walked back to my house and used a ladder to leap over and meet him in his blood.

Looking around, I noticed his ex-wife cowering in a cage with her daughter."

He said that the dead and the suspect had divorced about seven months prior and had two children together.

He claimed that prior to the terrible incident, Attahiru planned to marry a new woman in two weeks.

He said that the deceased Attahiru had been stabbed and that the police will investigate whether the suspect had killed him herself or had hired assassins.

He further stated that Attahiru had been interred in Birnin Kebbi in accordance with Islamic customs.
