IBEDC and Osun NSCDC collaborate to prevent electricity theft and vandalism.

To fight electricity theft and vandalism in the State, the Osun State Command, the Ibadan Electricity Distribution Company (IBEDC), and the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) have joined forces.

In order to stop energy theft and vandalism of national infrastructure in the power sector, the NSCDC and management of IBEDC Osun area met on Monday.

The Osun Regional Head of IBEDC, Engr. Adeniyi Adeleke, requested assistance from the NSCDC at the meeting to safeguard its electrical installations against vandalism, energy theft, and related vices, which are the main obstacles to providing customers with high-quality services.

The protection of the electricity company's electrical installations throughout the State was promised by Sunday Agboola, Commandant, Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), Osun State.

According to the NSCDC chairman, energy theft and vandalism are the devastating elements causing losses and liquidity issues that plague the power sector, ensuring that such a period in Osun State has come to an end.

According to Commandant Agboola, "hard times await those who intentionally destroy the country's national assets and infrastructure."

He also vowed that the Command was prepared to fight the cankerworm of electricity theft and vandalism in the State.

He insisted that the Corps will make every effort to find vandals hiding out in the State and bring them to justice.

Agboola warned the state's natives to be watchful and report vandalism to the Command or any of the Corps offices closest to them for swift action.
