According to Rev. Fr. Kelvin Ugwu, a Nigerian Catholic priest serving in Malawi, some Nigerians who opposed Peter Obi's bid for president lacked common sense.
Fr Kelvin claimed in a post on his verified Facebook page that the current momentum for the Labour Party presidential candidate is unusual.
The popular clergy described Obi's ambition and move as a heavenly plan, citing his defection from the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, to the LP and his widespread support throughout the country.
He urged the former governor of Anambra State's assailants to turn around, saying that they "can't fight him and you can't stop him." Simply remove your hands for my concern.
Every single person who had attempted to bring down the LP candidate up until this point, according to the priest, "ended up getting killed and ruining their reputations."
What is pursuing Mr. Peter Obi is not ordinary, he wrote. If you honestly consider each action he has taken thus far—from leaving the PDP to selecting his running mate—you will see how well-timed, exact, and deliberate he has been. All they are are divine arrangements.
The doubts we had about some of those opposing him have been completely dispelled thanks to Peter Obi. "We never knew, we were even 'gbaming' them then, but with Peter Obi, every doubt about them has been completely dispelled," one person said.
