Blasphemy: After Several Months Of Deborah's Brutal Killing, Sokoto Police Command Confirms Continuous Search For Her Killers.

The Shehu Shagari College of Education student Deborah Samuel's accused killers are still being sought after, according to the Sokoto State Police Command.

In May 2022, Samuel was stoned to death over blasphemy accusations by some pupils who were thought to be her classmates.

The people who were detained by the police, according to DSP Sanusi Abubakar, the command's spokesman, were not the main suspects in the investigation. They were just one of the people that planned the violence, according to Abubakar.

He further stated that those detained remained in remand custody as the court had instructed.

Abubakar added that the main suspects were remained at large but that there are ongoing efforts to apprehend them.

According to a police spokeswoman, those people who were detained at the time—who were not the suspected murderers—contributed to the violent disturbance and were brought before the judge, who ordered that they be remanded in custody.

We have forwarded our intelligence to every region of the state regarding those alleged killers and distributed their photos to media outlets.

"We're still searching for them, and we're optimistic we can find them and catch them. We'll find them and bring them before a judge who can hear their case.

He pledged that the command would be impartial in the matter and added that Muhammed Gumel, the state's chief of police, will see to it that justice was done.
