20-year-old with two AK-47 rifles apprehended by Kaduna police.

The Kaduna Police Command reported that its agents had apprehended a 20-year-old bandit with two AK-47 rifles at the Galadimawa hamlet in the state's Giwa local government area.

The "operatives, Operation Restore Peace," acting on reliable intelligence, dislodged an identified kidnapper's lair at Galadimawa woodland, engaging the bandits in a violent fire battle, according to a statement released by the command's spokesman on Saturday, DSP Mohammed Jalige.

He claimed that other crooks fled into the forest while suffering various wounds.

He claimed that one of the suspects who was apprehended, 20-year-old Yusuf Monore, was in possession of two AK 47/49 rifles, five live 7.62 X 39mm rounds, as well as handsets. He is currently the subject of a thorough investigation.

The operatives, however, are currently pursuing the evading suspects.

Yekini Ayoku, the commissioner of police for Kaduna State, praised the officers' bravery and promised to strengthen the already strong synergy and cooperative engagement between the security agencies in the State.

Law-abiding citizens and residents of Kaduna State were also urged by the CP to exercise constant vigilance and alert security authorities to any suspicious individuals, while assuring them of the secrecy of all information sources.
