WAFCON: Following Burundi's victory, Botswana tops the Super Falcons' group.

At the ongoing 2022 Women's Africa Cup of Nations in Morocco, Botswana has topped Group C.

This comes after their 4-2 triumph over Burundi, another debutant, on Monday.

With two minutes remaining before halftime, Keitumetse Dithebe gave Botswana the lead.

Lesego Radiakanyo made it 2-0 almost right away after the break.

In the 52nd minute, Sandrine Niyonkuru pulled one back, but Refilwe Tholakele regained the two-goal lead.

Tholakele scored twice to make the score 4-1, and Niyonkuru added a third to make the score 4-2.

South Africa is now in second position after defeating the Super Falcons of Nigeria 2-1.

On Thursday, both teams will play again, with Botswana taking on Nigeria and South Africa taking on Burundi.
