As a result of the Catalan club hijacking their bid for Sevilla's Jules Kounde, Chelsea are preventing Barcelona from signing their two defenders, Cesar Azpilicueta and Marcos Alonso.
Although Kounde is anticipated to join the Premier League's heavyweights at Stamford Bridge this summer, Barcelona has entered the race despite their financial difficulties.
Since Kounde prefers to join Barcelona over Chelsea, Barcelona is now optimistic that it can reach an agreement with Sevilla to sign the French star.
Chelsea are 'mad' with the Blaugrana, according to the Spanish publication Sport, and think they are interfering with their plans while also seeking to acquire two of their own players, Azpilicueta and Alonso.
Both Azpilicueta and Alonso have been strongly linked with transfers to the LaLiga giants, but it is rumoured that Chelsea are reportedly preventing the deals because of the Kounde dispute.
