Thomas Tuchel, Chelsea's manager, wants to recruit Jules Kounde from Sevilla to Stamford Bridge.
On Thursday, football transfer specialist Fabrizio Romano revealed this in a message via his Twitter handle.
According to Romano, Chelsea's main transfer target under Tuchel this summer is Kounde.
"Jules Koundé deal is still a priority for Chelsea," he tweeted. Tuchel is interested in him. On the player side, negotiations are well advanced, but Sevilla is still awaiting the opening bid for the French centre back.
"The price tag will be around €65 million, with a release clause of less than €80 million."
Meanwhile, Liverpool announced on Thursday that attacker Divock Origi will depart the club at the conclusion of his contract, which expires in June.
Loris Karius, Sheyi Ojo, and Ben Woodburn will all leave Anfield when their contracts expire at the end of this month, according to the Reds.
Liverpool made the announcement on their website.
