Shehu Sani, a former Kaduna Central Senator, has reacted to the decision to keep Catholics away from Rev. Fr. Ejike Mbaka's Adoration Ministry.
Bishop Calistus Onaga, the Catholic Bishop of Enugu Diocese, had banned Mbaka's Adoration Ministry.
This follows Mbaka's recent outburst against Labour Party presidential candidate Peter Obi, according to the DAILY POST.
Onaga stated they were all barred from having anything to do with the Adoration Ministry in a letter he personally signed and addressed to 'All the Clergy, Religious, and Lay Faithful in the Catholic Diocese of Enugu.'
Sani compared Mbaka's situation to that of Sheikh Khalid, who was removed as Imam of Apo Juma'at mosque.
He mentioned that people like Khalid Mbaka were ousted because of their political opinions.
"Asking Catholics not to attend the Church of Father Mbaka because of his political beliefs is the same as removing Sheikh Khalid as Imam of Apo Juma'at mosque due of his opinions," the former legislator remarked in a tweet. We are only distinct when we accept viewpoints that differ from our own.
