Russia-Ukraine War: According to Buhari, Nigeria is ready to supply gas to Europe.

Nigeria is prepared to replace the natural gas shortfalls in Europe brought on by the ongoing Russia-Ukraine conflict, according to President Muhammadu Buhari.

On Thursday, while on a State Visit in Lisbon, Portugal, the President made the news.

With more than 200 million people, mostly young, Buhari claimed that Nigeria is prepared to serve as the centre of the African Continental Free Trade Area (AfCFTA).

Commenting on Portugal and Nigeria's cooperation, he urged his host nation to view Nigeria as a valuable and reliable partner in Africa.

The Nigerian president outlined five crucial areas for collaboration that might advance both nations.

Oil and gas, travel and hospitality, air travel, security, and joint commission are among them.

According to Buhari, the Nigeria-Portugal relationship is essential to prevent a crisis in the demand and supply chain given the ongoing conflict.

The West African nation is already Portugal's top gas supplier.

The President mentioned that Nigeria had a lot of potential in the tourism industry and would like to take advantage of Portugal's experience.

Regarding air travel, he underlined the necessity of establishing a direct air link between the two nations and signing a bilateral air services agreement (BASA).
