Lagos Okada ban: Idi Araba okada riders in fierce battle With Lagos Task Force.

A battle between motorcycle (Okada) riders and the Lagos State Task Force is apparently taking place in Lagos' Idi Araba neighbourhood.

Since June 1, 2022, the Lagos government has prohibited motorbike activity in some areas.

Apapa, Eti Osa, Ikeja, Lagos Island, Surulere, and Lagos Mainland are among the impacted LGAs.

Thousands of motorcycles have already been seized by officials, and they are being frequently smashed in public.

The Lagos Police Command has assured residents that they will be secure following today's confrontation.

Benjamin Hundeyin, the bikers' public relations officer, denied that the riders had battled security personnel.

"The Taskforce was well-prepared for the mission. After Taskforce left with some of their seized motorcycles, they (riders) were simply raising a ruckus."

The Rapid Response Squad (RRS) and soldiers from the Area Command, according to Hundeyin, have been dispatched to the scene.
