The South East Revival Group (SERG) has urged INEC and security authorities to protect Igbos who are registered to vote.
Willy Ezugwu, the National Coordinator, said in a statement on Saturday that INEC should extend the deadline for Continuous Voters Registration (CVR).
The group reacted to claims that Igbos in Lagos and other parts of the South-East were being discriminated against during the registration process.
SERG highlighted social media recordings of situations from the Alaba International Airport in Ojo, as well as other parts of Lagos.
"We urge INEC and all security services in the country to safeguard Igbos attempting to register as voters."
"Given the current challenges, the CVR exercise should be expanded to allow all eligible voters to register to vote or obtain their Permanent Voter Cards (PVC)."
According to Ezugwu, insecurity in the South-East and military activities in some localities warrant calls for the CVR exercise to be extended.
SERG also urged INEC to guarantee that all registered voters' PVCs are printed and issued before to the elections in 2023.
The electoral umpire stated on Friday that 209 devices would be deployed in Lagos, Kano, and the South-East states.
