EPL: Another key player for Chelsea is reportedly planning a move away from Stamford Bridge.

Lazio, an Italian club, is nearing the completion of negotiations to bring Chelsea left back Emerson Palmieri to their club this summer.

The 27-year-old forward moved to Chelsea from Roma in 2018, but he has been unable to make an impact with the west London club. He played for Lyon on loan during the previous campaign.

Now that there is only one year left on his contract, Chelsea has the opportunity to sell him this summer as they look to revitalise their defensive options. This is the case because there is only one year left on his contract.

And it has been reported by Corriere dello Sport that the Italy international who was born in Brazil is a target for Lazio, with the manager of the Serie A club, Maurizio Sarri, wishing to reconcile with a player he managed in the past.

The Blues reportedly want more than 12 million pounds to part with the defender, and the player might have to take a wage reduction in order to facilitate a transfer.

During the period that Emerson was in charge of the west London club three years ago, Sarri collaborated with Emerson.

As a result of falling out of favour with Thomas Tuchel, the fullback has only made 16 appearances for Chelsea over the course of the past two seasons combined.

Ben Chilwell and Marcos Alonso are two of the players west Londoners can choose from when it comes to filling the left back position. This gives them sufficient strength in depth.
