Club Cubana Shooting: Burns Boy's Bodyguards Shoot Two As Grammy Winner Makes Passes At A Married Woman

Five police officers linked to musician Damini Ogulu, alias Burna Boy, have been arrested for attempted murder after shooting two men, Irebami Lawrence and Tolu, at Club Cubana on Victoria Island, Lagos, on Wednesday, June 8.

According to Punch, the trouble began when the singer and five police escorts arrived at the nightclub around 4 a.m. on June 8, according to a preliminary report from the Bar Beach Police Division.

Four police officers waited outside as one of them, Inspector Ibrahim, who was dressed in mufti, escorted the Grammy-winning performer into the club.

According to various witness testimony, the artist was in the VIP section with three women when he spotted another woman, according to the publication.

He allegedly told Ibrahim to invite the woman to come with him. The lady was, unbeknownst to him, with her husband, who became enraged and accused the singer of making passes on his wife while he was with her.

Burna Boy allegedly made new passes at the woman after a few minutes. This upset her spouse even more, as did his buddies at the club.

"As things heated up, Ibrahim pulled out his service weapon and fired multiple shots while Burna Boy laughed," a senior cop stated.

Lawrence, 27, was shot in the leg during the incident, while his friend Tolu was struck in the head by a bullet. There was a ruckus in the club as a result of this.

Burna Boy and his entourage then drove to one of his houses around the Elegushi end of the Lekki-Epe Expressway before heading to Lekki Phase 1 according to reports.

"After realising what he'd done, Burna Boy boarded the next flight without even telling the cops. He only communicated with them via video conference to inform them that he had travelled to Spain. "

All of his police escorts have been apprehended and are currently being held at the Command headquarters," a top source in the Lagos State Commissioner of Police's office claimed.

They had travelled to Nigeria from the United Kingdom and the United States for a wedding, according to a friend of one of the victims.

"My guys came to 9ja from England and the United States." For a wedding, respectively. When I invited them to Club Cuba, a little feud with Burna Boy's entourage ensued (Cos of woman).

Bullets began to fly, and one was scraped in the head by one while the other was shot in the leg by another.

When we rushed him to the Naval Medic Center, they told us they didn't have any blood and that he needed three pints of O+ blood.

They said none of us could donate because we'd been drinking at the club, and then my friend began to shake in his hospital bed, as if he was about to die.

Soldiers who were good samaritans then offered to donate a pint of blood each, which was utilised to stabilise him.

The doctor claimed that the iphone in his pocket, through which the gunshot passed, slowed the projectile down, making it less lethal, and that the iphone saved his life."

BurnaBoy hasn't said anything about the accusation yet.

Benjamin Hundeyin, a spokesman for the Lagos State Police command, confirmed the event and said that the policemen were the main focus of the investigation. Hundeyin said that no one who had been hurt had complained to the police.
