2023: Beware, Buhari is planning to impose a president on us-Dino Melaye

Senator Dino Melaye, a former legislator, has claimed that President Muhammadu Buhari is attempting to impose his successor on Nigerians.

Dino, who lost his campaign for the Peoples Democratic Party's ticket to fight for the Kogi West Senatorial District in 2023, claimed the country is exercising democracy and will not tolerate the installation of a president in a video posted on his social media accounts.

He said this in response to Buhari's request for the APC governors' assistance in selecting his successor.

According to the DAILY POST, when Buhari met with the governors on Tuesday, he requested that they allow him to choose his successor in the same way that they did in their respective states.

However, Dino chastised Buhari in the video for using the word'successor' rather than party flag bearer, claiming that Buhari is attempting to impose the future president on Nigerians.

"Yesterday, the president made an unconstitutional comment and had some inhumane inclinations," he stated. The president stated that the APC governors should back him up in selecting his successor. The president used the term "successor" rather than "flagbearer" or "APC candidate."

"That statement has some bad consequences, one of which is Buhari's desire to impose a president on Nigerians.

"We live in a democracy, so we will not tolerate imposition, and we will not allow the president to manage this country as if it were a monarchy or a hereditary system."

"It is abhorrent and undemocratic for the president to be discussing a successor in an election that has yet to be held." I'm urging Nigerians to be vigilant because the fight to save the country from economic scavengers is a no-retreat, no-surrender battle.
