NECO Extends the Registration Period for the 2022 SSCE

The National Examinations Council (NECO) has extended the registration time for school-based applicants for the 2022 Senior School Certificate Examination (SSCE) in order to accommodate more candidates.

As a result, the registration period, which was set to end on Monday, May 30th, 2022, will instead end at midnight on Monday, June 20th, 2022.

The modification in the closing date for registration of school-based candidates, according to the National Examination Board's Head of Information Unit, Mallam Azeez Sani, was made to allow more schools to complete the process of registering their candidates.

However, Mallam Azeez stated in the announcement that the registration deadline will not be extended any further, emphasising that "State Ministries of Education, Principals, Commandants, and all stakeholders are enjoined to notice that there will be no additional extension."

"The 2022 NECO Senior School Certificate Examination (SSCE) will begin on June 27, 2022 and end on Friday, August 12, 2022," he said, adding that "candidates will be examined in 76 topics during the examination."
