According to a neighbour ( names withheld), “she has been battling depression for a while on account of no husband and no child.”
An employee of one of Lagos' largest communication firms is said to have committed suicide in the Osapa neighbourhood of Lekki suicide on Friday, May 27, 2022, at her apartment, number 1 Abayomi Kukomi close in Osapa London, Lekki, by allegedly swallowing 'Sniper,' a popular pesticide.
According to a police source, the woman may have committed suicide since she was unmarried and childless.
"What additional proof do we need to confirm that she committed suicide?" the police source asked, adding that there was no need for an autopsy because there was evidence that she committed suicide by drinking a deadly chemical. Her family was present when they spotted the empty sniper bottle. Except for the family, who are in doubt, they begged for the body to be released for burial."
According to the police source, she may have had an internal illness or been disappointed by something only she could comprehend because she had no other explanation because she had a lucrative career.
"She has been suffering despair for a time due to the lack of a husband and child," a neighbour (names withheld) said.
"When the policemen arrived on the site, her family members were there, and they begged that the corpse be returned to them so that they may bury her according to Islamic customs," stated Lagos State Police Public Relations Officer SP Benjamin Hundeyin.
Her remains was released to her relatives for burial on compassionate grounds."
