Breaking: Bitcoin Becomes Legal Tender In Central African Republic.

The presidency of the Central African Republic (CAR) announced on Wednesday that bitcoin has been approved as legal cash.

CAR is the first African country and the second in the world to accept bitcoin.

According to the government, citizens can use it in regular trade and to pay taxes.

After MPs approved a bill allowing the use of cryptocurrencies, Bitcoin and the CFA franc became legal tender.

President Faustin Archange Touadera, according to Chief of Staff Obed Namsio, has signed it into law.

"This step places the Central African Republic on the map of the world's boldest and most visionary countries," Namsio said in a statement.
