Party expresses support and calls for the release of Inspector.(police strike)

According to reports, the African Action Congress (AAC) on Wednesday expressed its support for police officers who are planning to go on strike in the country and demanded the release of Inspector Adebimpe Olorundare, who was allegedly detained as a member or organiser of the strike action in the country.

A statement issued by the party's National Publicity Secretary, Adeyeye Olorunfemi, titled "maximum solidarity with striking police officers; total support for March 26 nationwide protests at police stations and Eagle Square, Abuja," stated that it was past time to stand with the police officers who were planning to go on strike.

Additionally, the men and women of the Nigerian Police Force had taken a risky step that should not be overlooked or abandoned.

"It is past time to fully support our police officers who have seen the light of revolution and who intend to go on strike and demonstrate until their demands are met.

In his words, "These brave men and women have taken this courageous step, and they must not be abandoned."

In his list of demands, he included the following: immediate implementation of the announced salary structure; proper payment of pension and other emoluments for retired officers; adequate welfare, better working conditions, and renovation of barracks; provision of modern equipment and weapons to fight crime, in order to prevent the unfortunate killing of police officers by criminal gangs in the country; and adequate compensation to the families of police officers who have died in the line of duty.

Adeniyi Adeyeye has stated that the President Muhammadu Buhari administration "must stop lying about increasing the salaries of the police while it does not reflect in their take-home pay."

He went on to ask activists to show their support for the police, and he charged the Nigerian Police Force with putting an end to the harassment and intimidation of the officers who had been harassed and intimidated.

"To every activist who has been calling for the organisation of police officers into a union and the fight for better working conditions, the time to show solidarity has arrived. "

The African Action Congress – Nigeria is ready to march with the oppressed police officers on any given day and at any time of the year.

This is why we demand that one Inspector Adebimpe Olorundare, who has already been identified as one of the organisers, be released immediately and that the Nigerian Police Force refrain from further intimidation and harassment of protesting officers."

"The Police bureaucrats must immediately cease and desist from making an already dire situation even worse.

Isn't it obvious to the Buhari regime by now that you can't put a stop to the people's yearning for freedom? "We're all in this together, and we'll get through it together," Adeyeye declared.
