I haven't given up on my presidential ambitions. Umahi says

Dave Umahi, the governor of Ebonyi State, has dismissed suggestions that his presidential ambitions are dead.

Even so, the governor said he isn't worried about the court decision removing him from office because the law allows him to stay in office indefinitely.

After meeting with President Muhammadu Buhari, the governor told State House correspondents that talks about his presidential ambitions are still ongoing.

"It could be just your imagination," he said when asked if his presidential ambitions are dead. Because such a thing does not exist. You can find us in various media outlets, as well as on social media.

"My supporters can be seen everywhere, and my consultation can be seen." I even consult with those who are aspiring as well.

"And that demonstrates how dedicated I am to this course, which I believe is God's project." As a result, there isn't any such thing. "Whatever God's project is, no such consideration will be given to it," he stated.

The governor also expressed concern about the judiciary's inconsistency in determining whether votes belong to a candidate or a party.

"Do I appear concerned?" he asks. God has a plan for everything, as you can see. And I believe that the same God who allowed one court to rule that I have no place to go, has now allowed another court to rule that we are fired because we defected and the votes belong to the party.

"I'm also concerned because the Supreme Court has ruled that votes belong to the candidates." That's why, despite the fact that the APC won the election in Bayelsa, the deputy governor's credentials were questioned.

"Even before the day-to-day swearing in, the Supreme Court ruled that the APC candidate who won the election was disqualified because of his deputy."

"And so, if the vote belonged to the party, the Supreme Court, in their wisdom, would have simply asked the man who won the party's election to bring the substitute," he explained.
