Jaruma, an aphrodisiac vendor, was sentenced to prison for her comments against Regina Daniels' husband, Ned Nwoko.

Hauwa Muhammed aka Jaruma, an aphrodisiac salesman, has been detained in custody over a social media post she wrote about business tycoon and actress Regina Daniels' husband, Ned Nwoko.

Nwoko, who had signed a petition against Jaruma, accused the prominent Kayanmata seller of spreading lies about him and his wife, Regina Daniels, an actress, on her Instagram page.

Jaruma was charged with defamation of character, fake news dissemination, and intimidation before an Abuja Upper Area Court.

Nwoko had reported the case to the FCT Police Command for proper inquiry through a written petition from his lawyer on January 20, 2021, according to Police Prosecutor E. A Inegbenoise.

While Inegbenoise pleaded with the court to keep Jaruma in custody pending inquiry, her lawyer, Mr James Odibe, who filed an oral bail application, requested the court to grant the defendant bail on self-recognition or in the most liberal terms possible.

Justice Ismailia Abdullahi, in her ruling on the matter, ordered that the defendant be remanded in Suleja Correctional Centre until the bail hearing on Friday, January 28. Abdullahi then postponed the trial until February 23, 2021.
