After poisoning Hanifa Abubakar, a 5-year-old student at Noble Kids Nursery and Primary School, the school's proprietor Abdulmalik Tanko talked up about a chat he had with her after he poisoned her.
The suspect, who claimed that financial constraints compelled him to commit the crime, claimed that he killed the innocent youngster in order to conceal his tracks.
After hearing the news of Hanafi's kidnapping had gone viral, he expressed concern that he may be jailed if he attempted to remove her from the state.
Tanko also described how he planned and executed the kidnapping of the youngster in question.
According to him, "I brought her up at her house while she was already asleep; it was 11 p.m. at the time." When I awakened her up, I had already finished my cup of tea. My last solution was to put the remaining tea in an empty container of BoBo yoghurt and then fill it with rat killer poison.
"I told her that I was taking her back to her uncle's house, and while we were driving, I handed her the drink from the roadside and she drank it. After that, we went into one of the school's two branches, because the school has two branches."
"With her, we went into the other branch, and I told her I was going to pick something up from the other end. "She entered, and it was there that she died," he explained.
Additionally, Tanko revealed that he buried her at the school since he was unable to find a secure location to dig a grave for her.
Since then, the school has been closed indefinitely by the Kano State government.
When the Daily Trust paid a visit to the location earlier, people were spotted talking about the incident. The horrible death of a five-year-old child has aroused widespread indignation across the country.
