Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta has shortlisted four forwards to replace Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang.

Arsenal manager, Mikel Arteta, is said to have shortlisted four strikers to replace the club's sacked captain, Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, at the Emirates Stadium, according to reports.

Arteta has decided not to select Aubameyang after he was disciplined for a 'disciplinary infraction' at the club.

As a result of his expulsion from Arsenal's first squad, the 32-year-old has expressed a desire to depart the North London club during their January transfer window.

To the contrary, according to ESPN, Arteta has identified a number of players who may be a replacement for Aubameyang, including Dusan Vlahovic from Fiorentina, Alexander Isak from Real Sociedad, Dominic Calvert-Lewis from Everton, and Ole Watkins from Aston Villa.

Arteta had revealed on Friday that Aubameyang had departed Arsenal in order to report early for Gabon's preparations for the 2021 Africa Cup of Nations in Egypt.

Arsenal's striker has scored four goals in 14 Premier League games so far this season for the Gunners.
