Ghana's Black Stars lost their crucial match against Comoros in Group C of the Africa Cup of Nations.
Comoros, who are facing the four-time champion for the first time in the AFCON, won their first match 3:2, knocking out the West African nation.
B. Nabouhane scored a goal in the fourth minute to give Comoros an early lead.
After 25 minutes of play, Ghana's André Ayew was sent off, leaving the squad vulnerable to Comoros.
After 62 minutes, Ahmed Mogni doubled Comoros' lead. R. Boakye of Ghana scored the game's first goal in the 64th minute, and A. Djiku of Ghana levelled the score at 2:2 in the 77th minute.
In the 85th minute, Ghana conceded another goal, this time by A. Mogni, allowing Comoros to win their first AFCON match against Ghana.
For the first time in 22 visits, the Black Stars failed to win in the group stage of the competition.
Milovan Rajevac's men were forced to a 1-1 draw with Gabon after losing their opening encounter to Morocco (1:0).
Ghana has only won one of its last eight Africa Cup of Nations matches, and has failed to score in half of them.
The last time the Black Stars were eliminated from the AFCON group stage was in 2006.
After a 2:2 tie, Morocco and Gabon have already qualified with seven and five points, respectively.
