Odunare Olalekan, a 21-year-old man from Lagos state, committed himself by plunging into the Epe lagoon.
On the morning of Tuesday, December 14, after family members tried to prevent Olalekan from leaving him, this tragic tragedy occurred.
Before going to the lagoon, the diploma holder who worked in an estate in the neighbourhood advised his girlfriend to take good care of their 1-year-old child.
Lagos, Epe - On Tuesday, December 14, the family of Odunare in Lagos experienced the worst when their 21-year-old son and brother, Olalekan, drowned in the lagoon in the Epe local government area of the state.
After leaving home on the fateful Tuesday morning, Olalekan, who worked at Alaro City, a mega estate along the Lekki-Epe Expressway until his disappearance, went to his girlfriend's apartment and told her to look after their 1-year-old child because they might never see each other again, according to Punch.

According to Daily Trust, the young man was seen in a viral video sitting on a bridge's handrail before jumping into the water at Berger Bridge, Epe.
His family members reportedly tried to stop him from leaving after he suspiciously told them he was departing without explaining what he meant.
According to a family source who talked with the newspaper, Olalekan's physical strength enabled him to overcome all attempts to prevent him from leaving home since they believed he was on his way to doom.
According to the source;
"Olalekan has been acting weirdly for a while now. He couldn't sleep for more than a week. He only announced his departure yesterday (Tuesday). 'Where are you going?' they inquired. They tried to restrain him, but he was so powerful that he overcame the others around him; perhaps it was a spiritual attack. We were unable to confirm this. He simply awoke and informed them that he was leaving and that they should pray for him. They tried to restrain him, but he overcame them and rushed straight to his girlfriend's house, telling her to look after his child because they might not see each other again."
The elder sibling informed his father after witnessing the footage of the kid taking his own life.
Added the family source;
"He told their father that they shouldn't hunt for Lekan since he witnessed him jumping into the lagoon on Berger Bridge and assumed he had died."
The source stated why the man who shot the viral footage was unable to help Olalekan,
"The man was a long way away from him." When he leapt into the river, he was about to hold him. Only someone who could swim could keep him there.
