In the early hours of Christmas morning on Long Island, New York, a 27-year-old man named Dino Tomassetti is accused of shooting and wounded his multi-millionaire parents.

At around 10:10 a.m. on Saturday, Dino Tomassetti allegedly shot his mother, Vincenza, 64, in the head and his father, Rocco, 65, in the back at their home on Seawane Drive in Hewlett Harbor.



Luckily help came They were both in good condition and alert as they were being taken to the hospital by ambulance.

Empire Transit Mix Inc., the Brooklyn-based cement and concrete company owned by suspect Rocco Tomassetti, was founded by his father.

Neighbors in the Hewlett Harbor neighbourhood were shocked by the violence on Sunday.

"Kind of crazy, because this is a really peaceful neighbourhood, kind of like a safe neighbourhood," stated Ariella Bronfman. It's rare for something like this to happen in this town.

New York state troopers tracked down the shooter after he fled the scene and was last seen travelling through Mahwah, New Jersey.


The Mahwah Police Department was then notified, and the southbound lanes of New Jersey's Route 17 were immediately closed.

An arrest warrant has been issued for Tomassetti at Bergen County Jail, where he is now being held without bail.

At Retro Fitness gyms in Forest Hills and Glendale, Queens, a Brooklyn-based bodybuilder and personal trainer is the prime suspect.
