#Taliban: Reasons Afghanistan Led Government Fell So Cheaply To Taliban


 Victorious Taliban fighters patrolled Kabul on Monday after a surprisingly quick end to the 20-year war in Afghanistan, when thousands of people overcrowded the city's airport to escape the feared tough line of the Islamist government.

 The Taliban's capture of the capital, as in many other cities, took place without  bloodshed, but on Monday there were desperate scenes at Kabul airport as people tried to board the few available flights.

 "We're afraid to live in this city," a 25-year-old former soldier told AFP. "Since I've served in the military, the Taliban would definitely attacked me. 

The US government has insisted for the past few days that its two decades long war in Afghanistan was a success defined by the reversal of the threat posed by al-Qaeda.
