#Afganistan: Taliban Declears What Would Happen To Civilians And The Formal Government Army Officers

On Tuesday, the Taliban conducted their first formal news conference in Kabul since the city's surprise conquest, saying that they want peaceful relations with foreign countries and that they will respect women's rights within the context of Islamic law.

Mujahid, the movement's principal spokesman, said, "

We don't want any internal or external adversaries."Women would be permitted to vote,  work, study according to Mujahid.

He stated that the Taliban would not seek retaliation against former soldiers and members of the Western-backed government, stressing that the organization was extending amnesty to former Afghan government soldiers, contractors, and interpreters who served for international forces.“No one is going to hurt you, and no one is going to come knocking at your door,” he stated.

He also declears that private media in Afghanistan could remain free and independent, and that the Taliban were dedicated to the media within their cultural context.

The Taliban's news conference came after the US and its allies evacuated diplomats and civilians from Kabul airport the day before, after scenes of mayhem as Afghans trying to leave the Taliban thronged the terminal.
