Chibuike Amaechi, the former Governor of Rivers State and Minister of Transportation, has stated that he is more qualified to be President in 2023.
While the All Progressives Congress, APC, boasts politicians such as Vice President Yemi Osinbajo, former Lagos State Governor Bola Tinubu, Gov Dave Umahi of Ebonyi State, Rochas Okorocha, among others, in the presidential race, the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, boasts politicians such as former Vice President Atiku Abubakar, Gov Nyesom Wike of Rivers State, former Senate President Bukola Saraki, Gov Bala
However, Amaechi, who is running on the APC platform, claims that he has more qualifications than all of the politicians who have expressed interest in running for president.
When he paid Oba Adeyeye Enitan Ogunwusi, the Ooni of Ife, a consultation visit on Monday in Ile Ife, Amaechi claimed his prior experience and performance in government, as well as his physical and mental condition, prepared him to lead the country.
"If you look at my background, I happen to be one with greater precedence among all of us in APC, including PDP, with all due respect to them," he remarked. Eight years as Speaker, eight years as Governor, seven years as Minister, and the first Director General of a movement to overthrow a government in power.
"With that knowledge comes the realisation that leading among equals is both the greatest and most hardest task for anyone in government." They'll eliminate you if you don't lead appropriately.
"I've led my peers twice, as Chairman of the Conference of Speakers and Chairman of the Governors' Forum, during a very tumultuous period when the governors and the then-President were at odds." As a result, I have the necessary experience to lead the country through this tough period.
