No Extension of Holiday

It urged parents and guardians to disregard the purported announcement and prepare their children for the scheduled resumption on Monday.

Ministry Exposes Fake Circular

The Federal Ministry of Education also provided details showing why the document should not be regarded as an official communication.

The fake circular was reportedly dated September 8, 2026, and carried the reference number FME/SS/UNI/2026/128.

It also falsely listed Dr. (Mrs.) Aisha Garba as the Permanent Secretary of the ministry.

The ministry clarified that its Acting Permanent Secretary is Dr. Mrs. Folake Olatunji David.

Minister Assures Parents of Smooth Resumption

The Minister of Education, Dr. Maruf Tunji Alausa, CON, assured parents, guardians, students and other stakeholders that the Federal Government remains committed to ensuring a safe, orderly and seamless resumption.

The ministry further advised members of the public to verify sensitive information through its established official communication channels before sharing it online.

It warned against reproducing or circulating fabricated government documents, noting that doing so could create unnecessary confusion among parents, students and school authorities.

The Federal Ministry of Education reaffirmed its commitment to providing accurate, timely and transparent information to the public.
