Former NFL wide receiver Stedman Bailey has been arrested in Florida after police alleged that he engaged in sexual activity with a woman at an arcade inside a shopping mall.
According to an arrest report from the Pembroke Pines Police Department, Bailey and Karina Manderson were drinking at Round1 inside Pembroke Lakes Mall shortly before midnight on July 26 when officers alleged that the pair engaged in sexual activity near the bar area.
Police reportedly reviewed surveillance footage after a witness alerted authorities. The witness allegedly told officers she saw the pair engaged in sexual activity and asked them to stop.
The report states that Bailey subsequently pulled up his trousers before he and Manderson walked away from the area.
When questioned by police, Bailey reportedly acknowledged that both he and Manderson had their trousers down and that he had been exposed. However, he denied that sexual penetration had occurred.
Bailey reportedly told officers that he and Manderson had consumed approximately two or three alcoholic drinks and suggested that intoxication contributed to his behaviour.
Manderson, meanwhile, reportedly told police that she could not remember what had happened. She acknowledged consuming too much alcohol and said that even a single shot of tequila could make her intoxicated.
Police said they found no evidence that either person's drink had been tampered with.
Bailey was subsequently booked on a misdemeanor charge of exposure of sexual organs, according to the arrest report.
Bailey's NFL Career
Before his arrest, Bailey spent three seasons with the St. Louis Rams from 2013 to 2015 after a successful college career at West Virginia.
His NFL career was cut short following a 2015 shooting in Miami Gardens, where he suffered life-threatening injuries.
Bailey's arrest is based on allegations, and the charge does not constitute a finding of guilt.
