Summary

  • TikToker Peller and his fiancée Jarvis officially legalised their union in a court wedding on July 29.

  • The marriage registrar warned the couple that breaking their marriage vows could lead to legal consequences, including bigamy charges.

  • Peller's unexpected response about prison and love drew laughter as the couple prepares for their white wedding on August 1.

Popular Nigerian TikTok creator Hamzat Habeeb, widely known as Peller, sparked laughter during his court wedding after questioning why prison was mentioned during a marriage ceremony.

The social media personality and his fiancée, Jarvis, officially legalised their union on Wednesday, July 29, 2026, in a court ceremony attended by media personality Daddy Freeze and several invited guests. The event took place just days before the couple's white wedding scheduled for August 1, 2026. Read original

During the marriage proceedings, the registrar reminded the couple that marriage is legally binding and warned them about the consequences of violating their vows. She explained that entering another marriage while still legally married, an offence known as bigamy, is punishable under the law.

The warning appeared to surprise Peller, who immediately sought clarification before responding in his usual humorous style.

"Wait, wait, I get the question. For marriage? We will not break it, but ah, I don’t know how prison enters this love. We are good," Peller said during the ceremony.

His comment drew smiles from those present as the court proceedings continued.

The couple's journey to marriage has attracted attention in recent months. In June 2026, Peller proposed to Jarvis during a private beachside outing at La Palm Royal Beach Hotel in Ghana, where she accepted his proposal.

Days later, he travelled to Benin City to complete the traditional bride price ceremony with Jarvis' family, marking another important step before their wedding.

Last week, the couple also confirmed through a video shared online that August 1, 2026, has been fixed for their white wedding ceremony, bringing an end to weeks of anticipation from their supporters.

Their court wedding now officially marks the legal beginning of their marriage as they prepare to celebrate their union with family, friends and well-wishers at the upcoming white wedding.
