Niger Tornadoes Strengthen Squad with Three New Signings Ahead of 2026/27 NPFL Campaign

Niger Tornadoes have continued preparations for the 2026/27 football season with the arrival of three new players as the club looks to strengthen its squad before the new campaign.

The Minna-based side confirmed the additions of midfielders Naziru Awwal Ibrahim and Chibuikem Nicholas, alongside central defender Edward Lawrence.

Naziru Awwal Ibrahim and Edward Lawrence both completed moves from Wikki Tourists, while Chibuikem Nicholas joined the club from Sporting Supreme.

Announcing the signings, the club said the latest additions are part of efforts to reinforce key areas of the team ahead of the new Nigeria Premier Football League season.

Speaking after sealing his move, Naziru Awwal Ibrahim said, "I am happy to join Niger Tornadoes. This is a new challenge for me, and I am ready to give my best for the club and the fans."

Edward Lawrence also expressed his excitement, saying, "It is a great opportunity to be here. I look forward to working with my teammates and helping the club achieve its goals this season."

For Chibuikem Nicholas, the transfer represents another important step in his career. "Joining Niger Tornadoes is a big moment for me. I am prepared to work hard every day and contribute to the team's success," he said.

The club is expected to continue its preparations in the coming weeks as it builds a competitive squad for the 2026/27 campaign.
