Immediate past Delta State governor, Ifeanyi Okowa, has spoken after defeating incumbent Senator Ned Nwoko in the All Progressives Congress senatorial primary for Delta North.
In a brief response, Okowa said he would be “a good voice” for the district and thanked his supporters for standing by him during the contest.
Okowa said he was ready to serve with all his heart. He also promised to visit the district regularly, saying a senator must stay close to the people and understand their concerns first-hand. The victory marks a fresh political turn in Delta North and places the former governor in line for a major return to frontline politics after his vice-presidential run.
