JAMB 2026: Police Break Silence on Security Fears, Deploy Nationwide Protection for Candidates”

The Nigeria Police Force has dismissed reports of insecurity around some JAMB centres in a North Central state ahead of the 2026 examination, saying the claims were “without basis.”

DCP Anthony Okon Placid, the Force Public Relations Officer at Police Headquarters in Abuja, said the police had already taken steps to protect candidates, parents and examination officials. He said extra officers had been deployed nationwide, with patrols, perimeter checks and rapid-response teams placed on alert.

The police also said they were working with other security agencies to monitor possible threats and stop any attempt to disrupt the exercise. Candidates were advised to arrive early, follow all examination rules and report suspicious movement to security personnel on site.

The Force urged the public to ignore unverified social media claims and rely only on official updates from JAMB and the police.
