A former Special Assistant to Vice President Yemi Osinbajo, Hajiya Amina Lawal Rafin Dadi, has formally joined the African Democratic Congress (ADC) in Katsina State.
She received her membership card at her polling unit in Kudu I ward, located in Katsina town, on Sunday. The move comes just days after she announced her resignation from the All Progressives Congress (APC).
Speaking shortly after the registration, Amina Lawal confirmed her decision to switch parties, describing it as a step taken after careful consideration.
“I have officially joined the ADC today here in my ward,” she said. “This decision follows my resignation from the APC, and it is based on my commitment to continue contributing to political development.”
Her defection adds to the growing list of political realignments in the state ahead of future elections. Observers note that such movements have become more frequent across party lines in recent months.
Amina Lawal previously served in the office of the Vice President, where she was involved in administrative and advisory roles. Her latest move is expected to influence political dynamics within her local constituency.
