The Federal Government would compensate property owners impacted by the demolition operation done to make room for the Lagos-Calabar Coaster Highway with N2.75 billion. 

This was revealed by Works Minister Dave Umahi Wednesday, May 1, during the introduction of the revised design routes for the 700-kilometer project in Lagos. 

The Federal Ministry of Works hosted a ceremony when the first group of property owners impacted by the construction received their compensation, according to the Minister. 

The highway's route connects Lagos with Cross River, going through the coastal states of Rivers, Akwa Ibom, Ogun, Ondo, Delta, and Bayelsa before arriving at Cross River.

After the $200 million Landmark Beach Resort was demolished to make room for the project, which is expected to cost the federal government N15 trillion, controversy followed. Continue Reading...
