Police Names Top Suspect, clarifies Cause of Mohbad's Death

The late musician, Ilerioluwa Aloba, alias Mohbad, began vomiting and developing goosebumps after being injected three times by a nurse, Feyisayo Ogedemgbe, on September 12, 2023, according to the Lagos State Commissioner of Police, CP Idowu Owohunwa.Read full article

According to #Bendelnews, the CP made the announcement at a news conference on Friday at the state Command headquarters in Ikeja, Lagos.

He was presenting early findings from a police inquiry into the circumstances behind Mohbad's death.

"As of today, a total of 26 witnesses have been interviewed," the chief prosecutor added.

Those interviewed, according to him, include Mohbad's father, mother, sisters, brother, wife, and manager, among others.

According to the CP, Mohbad was brought to the hospital lifeless and was declared dead on September 12 by the attending physicians.

According to the CP, the nurse Feyisayo Ogedemgbe, who had been invited to inject the singer at the home of Mohbad's buddy Ayobami Sodiq, alias Spending, gave the singer three injections that are thought to have started a series of events that ultimately resulted in the singer's death.

The sequence of events that precisely and immediately resulted in the death of Ilerioluwa Oladimeji Aloba (Mohbad) took place between September 10 and September 13 of 2023, with incidences taking place in Ikorodu and Lekki in Lagos State, according to Owohunwa.

The main suspect in the homicide case is Feyisayo Ogedengbe "f," an assistant nurse who delivered numerous, highly strong injections that caused an immediate reaction and ultimately led to the death of Ilerioluwa Oladimeji Aloba (Mohbad).

"Feyisayo Ogedengbe is not a licenced registered nurse, and it is suspected that her illegal activities and medical carelessness were directly responsible for the series of events that led to Mohbad's death at 15:43 on September 12, 2023.

'The time within which Auxiliary Nurse Ogedengbe administered the injections on Mohbad, through his reaction, convulsion, and his eventual death is confirmed to be within less than an hour covering from 1440hrs when the principal suspect administered the sets of injections to 1543hrs when Mohbad was confirmed dead at Cura-Med Hospital, Lekki,'' the statement reads.

Auxiliary Nurse Feyisayo acknowledged the consequences of her actions, but the Medical Panel's Report found that she exceeded her scope of practise by giving the deceased IV Ceftriaxone.

According to their analysis, this was the most likely cause of the anaphylactic reaction, which could have been promptly resolved and his death possibly prevented, if the deceased had been treated in the hospital.

As the injury that ended in actions that led to Mohbad's death was sustained in the course of physical struggle between him and Mohbad, Ibrahim Oluwatosin Owoduni (Prime Boy) is also regarded as being culpable in the series of events that led to Mohbad's death.

By allowing Feyisayo Ogedengbe, who he knew to be an inexperienced and unlicensed nurse, to administer the powerful prescriptions that ultimately caused reactions that resulted in Mohbad's death, Ayobami Sodiq (Spending) is also seen as involved in the homicide case.

Owohunwa stated that they are now awaiting the findings of the autopsy report on the deceased singer's body.

He claimed that samples of the deceased singer's essential organs had been taken and sent for in-depth clinical evaluation.

After being unearthed a few days after Mohbad's burial in September, his remains underwent an examination.

Recall that MohBad passed away after receiving ear infection treatment. The musician reportedly received an anti-tetanus treatment from the medic after being beaten in Lagos, according to reports. He allegedly suffered injuries as a result of the beating, prompting him to look for a nurse at home.
